Last week, Jerry Pearson shared some helpful tech tips on successful screen capturing in this post. If you are looking to flip your classroom, though, there is more to it than just shooting some videos and recording pod casts. You’ve also got to consider the pedagogical implications. So, to compliment Jerry’s post on the technical aspects of flipping the classroom, here’s an article by Joe Hirsch over at edutopia that offers the following four tips for flipped learning:
- Start with lesson goals, then build out
- Use rich imagery and direct language
- Make videos that will reveal what students know
- Bring parents on board
Although that last tip isn’t particularly helpful for us folks in higher education, the insights Hirsch provides about the first three will be helpful for anyone looking to flip their classroom. Check out the full article here.
