Flipping the Mathematics Classroom

Presented by Al Drushler
Session Type: Conversation

The flipped classroom is a more active classroom. A brief presentation about the essential elements of a flipped classroom and my experience flipping a precalculus classroom will be given. I have found that flipping my precalculus classroom gave students time in class to collaborate and discuss their work and to practice techniques they were expected to master. Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to discuss their own experiences of implementing a flipped classroom model. If you have not tried to implement a flipped classroom model, this workshop will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and gain new insights into the theory and practice of the flipped classroom model. While the topics and examples being presented will apply to a mathematics classroom, the flipped classroom can be applied to any classroom.
